Toby Imada is the real star of Bellator FC! 419,273 hits on You Tube and still climbing! What heart and guts and against any and all odds! What technique! What epic fights! Awesome!

One technique does not make a FIGHTER ! Millions of them create a REAL ONE !
People who are clueless about MMA keep watching one technique on Youtube, they don't realize the millions used by other fighters. Ignorants !

I saw all the fights and I have to say the Toby Imada/Jorge Masvidal fight was the best fight of the tournament! From the standpoint of all aspects - heart, conditioning, technique, thinking and coming from behind against all odds. Toby Imada fought Masvidal's fight and took everything he could dish out and won. Everyone knows that multiple techniques are involved in MMA, not just striking or rear naked chokes... Your point is valid.
You are right - You Tube videos are sometimes very edited versions of reality created to generate attention, but in this case it catches the basic essence of the fight. Some of the other Bellator videos I would be somewhat more critical of. They are highlights of the fight.
But he that generates the most positive attention for Bellator is the star!

Ya. I think you're right. Can't even remember what was in the news 2 months ago or even the last 3 VP's of the United States too well. Anyway video footage of the fight will be around for a long time for those that are truly interested in martial arts competition and the Toby Imada one is a memorable one. Meanwhile, organizations will focus all the attention they can on what they want to sell at the moment...

Sports Illustrated Submission of the Year (midyear recognition) to Toby Imada's standing inverse reverse triangle choke submission of Jorge Masvidal! 424.399 hits on YouTube provide popular support to this recognition! Despite what a few might say, this was the most epic fight of the tournament! Wow!!!

Toby Imada was hardly "outmatched" by Alvarez. What a travesty of reporting! Alvarez got lucky in my opinion! But they have to make their boy look good in whatever way they can.

Bellator has a good look about it, especially in supporting the fighters by paying them enough to fight and train at the same time. Kudos to Mr. Rebney for giving some relatively unknown fighters a chance to show what they can do. And how they demonstrated this was nothing short spectacular!
I really like the Spanish language commentators, especially Manny (quiet, rational and knowlegeable) and the George X (the more animated, enthusiastic one)! The announcer is very good too! ESPN Deportes was great!!

The social media networks like You Tube will continue to provide a counterpoint to the organization's message. Those individuals that capture the public's attention will continue to provide the greatest support and exposure to a happening, irregardless of what it might be. This phenomena cannot be ignored! Toby Imada"s half-a-million viewers are a concrete statement of this truth! Wow!

Most of the championship bouts seemed one-sided and somewhat boring - feather-weight, welter-weight, middle-weight. Does anyone feel the same?

Toby Imada's fights seemed to be complete, inspiring, and truly challenging from beginning to end. All of them. Unlike any others!

ESPNDesportes was great!! I was quite pleasantly surprised. Manny and George X and Lupe Contreras were outstanding, especially Manny's fighter's experience, knowledge and insight! Outstanding job!!!! I only have a year's of Spanish language exposure, but I was really impressed with the show!

Keep going on ESPN Deportes! The programing is just outstanding! The concept of the relatively unknown fighter challenging the highly ranked fighter is just great! Commentary in Spanish and English is just fantastic! Manny and George X and Lupe are outstanding, especially Manny, a real fighter!!!

I have to say, the single fighter that left the greatest impression when everything was said and done was Toby Imada, even though he didn't win!!! Awesome!

Bellator gave a bunch of very talented unknown fighters a chance to prove themselves in a tournament format and paid them reasonably well, utilized social networking media like You Tube to showcase the most exciting moments of their fights to the world and draw attention to the organization, and created a authenticity and chemistry that is making Bellator a standout in MMA!

Toby Imada helped put Bellator on the MMA map! Yahir Reyes showed that Bellator was not a fluke! These 2 will indelibly be associated with the emergence of Bellator FC as an exciting, fresh and viable approach to MMA programming.

Toby gives his opponents too many opportunities and doesn't take advantage of a lot that he creates! Got 2 B more ruthless like the rest of them. This is not a contest about who is the best, but about who wins.

I'll have 2 disagree w/ u on the last thing u said, it's is about who is the best and who is better prepared to fight NOT about winning cause anyone could win with one of those lucky punches as we call them ! Winning is important but being a real champion surpasses that !

That's an intriguing comment. It's not abut who wants to win? Really? What about someone who takes apart another fighter and loses for some reason?

What about Dave Herman? This kid went 13-0 training himself out of his living room!!! Thats simply amazing. The loss to Choi was the best thing thats happened to him... made him realize that he needed a proper trainer and camp. Now that he has that he looks scary. I know they didnt have a heavyweight tourny but if they would have or maybe will in the future I would think Herman has to be a favorite.

Intresting ! What I remember about a fighter is his techniques, and agression, I don't care about the final decision ( ANYONE COULD LOOSE AND STILL BE AN EXCELLENT FIGHTER,LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO MASVIDAL) I guess those who go by the record don't even know what MMA is about ! There are fighters out there with tremendous records and interesting enough, they have those records b/c they fought weaker opponents, pretty much you can say that thet got a lil' bit of help to be where they are right now... When an organization wants you to be their star, they'll give you a hand and go easy on you with your opponents until you actually get to the top and start fighter real beasts !

Organizations and managers have a lot of influence on the outcome of the careers of some fighters, but ultimately the technique, skill, conditioning, character and some other less definable things begin to become very apparent. Other inputs - Injuries. Motivation. Personal problems. Even age. But a really good fighter is apparent to a lot of people even if his record isn't great.

Bellator has to balance the organization's basic business needs with the fighters' welfare. If it can do that, it will be successful! So far, so good!
